iOS/Android app
How can you encourage more young people to learn about nature? Biologg is our own mobile game that inspires people who are unfamiliar with the outdoors to spend more time outside. The game is inspired by Pokémon Go and involves collecting observations of plants and animals by taking pictures of them. The player can collect points, level up, complete challenges and learn about nature as they play. The data they collect can be used for research and nature conservation in order to protect biodiversity.
The idea for Biologg was born during a hackathon in 2018 where we were one of the winning teams. The challenge of the hackathon was to use open data from Sweden’s national authorities to create new solutions. Biologg uses API:s from the Swedish Species Information Centre to search for species and read facts inside the app.
